DRAMA
Leslie Ebony

Leslie Ebony was born in the south suburbs of Chicago and later graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in accounting. Leslie found a way to balance her analytical nature with her passion by yielding to her gift of performing: professional accountant by day, intriguing spoken word artist by night.  Always bubbling with enthusiasm and trusting her internal voice, Leslie soon began gracing stages around Chicago and was soon a welcomed headliner, performing full-time for a short spell and later produced and distributed her own CD.  Much of her growth as an artist has come through her life overseas and the welcoming international audience of Amsterdam.  She produced, directed and starred in her first theater performance, Naked Thoughts, showcasing pieces near and dear to her heart.

MELODY
Esperanza Spalding

Esperanza Spalding on the red carpet at the Grammys 2011
If “esperanza” is the Spanish word for hope, then bassist, vocalist and composer Esperanza Spalding could not have been given a more fitting name at birth. Blessed with uncanny instrumental chops, a multi-lingual voice that is part angel and part siren, and a natural beauty that borders on the hypnotic, the 25-year-old prodigy-turned-pro might well be the hope for the future of jazz and instrumental music.  This year Spalding won Best New Artist of the year at the Grammy Awards.
